Terms of service

Draft, last updated 24 October 2026. Items in [square brackets] are to be confirmed before launch.

1. Who we are

Readybrief is provided by [Business name, e.g. Chris Rough trading as Readybrief], [Postal address] (“we”). Contact: hello@readybrief.co.uk.

2. What Readybrief is, and isn’t

Readybrief helps venues prepare for the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025: checking scope, drafting procedures, briefing staff and volunteers, and keeping records. It is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by the SIA, the Home Office, ProtectUK or the Martyn’s Law Campaign. It is not legal advice, and we can’t promise that using it means you meet any legal duty. You decide what your venue’s procedures say, and you are responsible for checking and signing them off.

3. AI drafts

Drafts are produced by AI from what you tell us. They can be wrong or incomplete. Nothing is final until a person at your venue has checked it and signed it off.

4. Plans, trials and payment

Prices are on our pricing page. Every plan starts with a 30-day free trial; we won’t charge you unless you choose to continue. Paid plans are billed [annually in advance]. [VAT position to confirm.] You can cancel at any time; your plan runs to the end of the period you’ve paid for. [Refund policy to confirm, e.g. a full refund within 14 days of the first payment.]

5. Your information

Your procedures stay yours. We encrypt them, keep them private to your venue and organisation, never use them to train AI, and delete them when you ask or close your account. Our privacy notice explains what we collect and why.

6. Fair use

Please don’t misuse the service: no attempts to access other venues’ information, overload the service, or use it for anything unlawful. Keep your private venue link safe; anyone who has it can see and change your venue’s records.

7. Our responsibility

We take reasonable care to run the service well and keep it available, but we can’t guarantee it will always be uninterrupted. [Liability limit to confirm, e.g. limited to the fees you paid in the previous 12 months, except where the law doesn’t allow a limit.] Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

8. Changes and ending

We’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice by email of any material change to these terms or to your price. If we ever close the service, we’ll give you notice and a way to download your records first.

9. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
